In-person registration is set for Sunday, February 21st at Capital Hill Mall - next to UAS.  As always, you are also welcome to mail your completed registration form.

  Helena Youth Baseball Season Quickly Approaching

Happy New Year Baseball Families!

Helena youth baseball needs your help.  

The Helena Babe Ruth Baseball Association (HBRBA) Board is busy gearing up for another season of Babe Ruth, Cal Ripken and Rookie League youth baseball.  There is much to do to prepare for the season ahead.  We currently have nine parents/Board members/volunteers working hard in preparation for the new season.  That is less than 2% of the entire parent population working so that your child and you can enjoy another baseball season.  Simply put, nine volunteers is not enough to make the season successful.

You can help make a difference in a number of ways:

1.  JOIN THE BOARD If you have the time and the desire to make a lasting impact, you can join the Board to help with developing policy and direction for the league.  This would also include working on various tasks and committees on an as needed basis.

2.  JOIN A COMMITTEE There is a tremendous amount of work that goes into making a youth baseball season the best it can be.  We will need volunteers to assist with many tasks including field preparation for the new year, helping fix the vandalism that the fields incurred this winter, player registration, fund raising for maintenance equipment and other needs, uniform distribution, scorekeeping, City Tournament support, 4th of July Tournament support and much more.

3.  APPLY FOR A PAID POSITION We are looking to fill a few paid positions that are critical to a successful season.  These positions will be advertised very soon and include Umpire in Charge, Daily Field Prep and Maintenance, and 4th of July Tournament organizer.

Much of the work ahead needs to be accomplished before the first pitch is thrown.  If we all "pitch in" and do a little, or as much as we want, our baseball players will only benefit from our efforts.  As parents we will all be able to enjoy our players as they compete and have fun this season.

If you're interested in participating this year and want to learn more, please attend our next Board meeting on Thursday, January 28 at 7 PM.  It will be in the Clubhouse at Ryan Exchange Fields.
